2016 Preseason
1. Bourbon County (17-2-3) – The Lady Colonels return the dominant scoring tandem of senior forward Mady Tipton and sophomore forward Katelyn Whitaker. The pair scored 74 of the team’s 103 goals. Set up specialist senior midfielder Morgan Hein, along with three other senior offensive standouts (defender Holli Roe, midfielder Karley Donovan and forward Katie Donovan) form a potent offensive attack. Those five have been significant contributors since their freshman seasons. The Lady Colonels’ biggest question will come in net, where the team will need a replacement for three-year starter Haleigh Yazell. Karley Donovan played one game in goal in 2013, but does not figure to take over the position. Sophomore midfielder Kennedy Hensley and senior defender Peyton Lowe also return and will bolster the back line. Coach Jeff Jett’s squad has averaged 17 wins in each of the last three seasons and has out-scored its opponents 265-70 over that span.
