The East Carter Lady Raider soccer team needed just three minutes to get on the scoreboard and did not let its foot off the pedal in a 5-0 romp over district foe Greenup County (3-5) in the opening game of a boy-girl doubleheader in Grayson. The victory was the first at home this season for East Carter (2-4-3), which won for the first time in five outings.
The hosts scattered their scoring among five different players. Emily Hicks, Rebecca Adams, Olivia Nischan, Madison Dyer and Taylor Hall each found the back of the net. Hall, Hicks and Adams each earned an assist. East Carter finished with a 26-6 advantage in shots. Greenup County recorded just one scoring attempt in the second half.
Hicks opened the scoring off a Hall assist at the three-minute mark. Adams then collected a goal off a Hicks shot that ricocheted off the left post in the 17th minute. Less than two minutes later, Nischan got on the board by relocating the rebound of an Adams shot. Dyer drove through the Lady Musketeer defense and scored in the 22nd minute to push the advantage to 4-0. Hall capped off the scoring in the 44th minute after she blasted a 20-yard attempt into the back of the Greenup County net.
Alivia Sturgill earned the shutout after making just two saves. Lexy Evans made 12 saves for the Musketeers.

East is 0-2-2 in its last four games. GC is playing its 4th straight road game. The Lady Musketeers are 2-2 on the road this year and currently sport a two-game winning streak. EC won the last 27 meetings, including nine straight at home. Last GC win: 1-0 at East on Sept. 14, 2004.
